Self Signed SSL Certificate: How to Solve It
A self-signed SSL certificate is one generated and signed by the site owner rather than issued by a trusted, third-party Certificate Authority whose root certificate is embedded in browser and OS trust stores. Because the certificate chain cannot be validated against a trusted CA, browsers display an untrusted-connection warning to visitors, typically because the site is using an internal or default cert instead of one from a CA like Let's Encrypt or DigiCert. This blocks most visitors outright with a security interstitial, and Google treats an untrusted HTTPS implementation as effectively equivalent to no HTTPS for trust and ranking purposes.
